We know how important it is to make a first impression. To set you up for success, our team pays for a professional interior designer to come to your home and give you advice about what to do to make your home appeal to the most buyers.
SIMPLIFY:
Limit personal photos
Pack away all “knick-knacks”
Clear off fridge- no magnets!
Clear off top of fridge and cabinets
Clear end tables
Completely clear all vanities
Organize closets and pantries- emphasize the storage and space available!
Hide any wires that are visible (computer, TV, etc.)
Go minimal on shelf displays- pack away most personal items and leave only a few to again emphasize space and reduce clutter.
Verify that all light bulbs are working and match. The more lighting available, the better.
OUTDOORS:
Neatly store any toys, tools, etc. Wrap hoses neatly if any are outside of home.
Keep front porch décor/items to a minimum to emphasize space. Seating is great if it doesn’t overwhelm the front porch. Consider a new Welcome Mat or wreath.
Keep lawn mowed and trim any shrubs or hedges.
CLEAN:
Vacuum/Sweep/Dust - do a general cleaning of entire home.
Wipe down all fans, light switches, door frames, and mirrors.
Deep clean all bathrooms - sinks, showers, shower doors, toilets.
Clean windows and windowsills.
Sweep front porch.
Clean out all gutters.
FINISHING TOUCHES:
Remove all trash cans and place in garage.
Clear all signs of pets- no food bowls, toys, beds, litter boxes, etc. Signs of pets make potential buyers weary of wear-and-tear to the home.
Gather any kids toys neatly into baskets or boxes.
Open all blinds/curtains for natural light.
Remove any signs of tobacco use within home.
Limit fragrances to one per level. Strong smells, even if pleasant, make potential buyers wonder what these air fresheners might be covering up. Go for a clean, non-invasive smell.
